Precise Tooling has been designing, manufacturing, and repairing molds and providing CNC machining services since 1979. The company started modestly with a handful of employees who wanted to apply their mold industry knowledge to the process of making better tooling. Slowly, but consistently the company grew in stature and reputation by building high quality tooling.
Don Dumoulin purchased the Company from its founders in 2013. After honing his leadership skills at Proctor & Gamble and in the medical device industry, Don invested significant capital at Precise Tooling by adding an ERP system, state-of-the-art machining centers, and software applications to ensure the Company could meet evolving customer expectations.
The Best Places to Work program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best employers in the plastics industry, benefiting the economy, workforce, and businesses in the United States and Canada. 15 companies were named in 2016.
Plastics processors and injection mold makers across North America entered the two-part survey process to determine Plastics News Best Places to Work. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company's workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems, and demographics. The second part consisted of a confidential employee survey to measure the employee experience. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking. Best Companies Group administered the overall registration and survey process, analyzed the data, and determined the final rankings.
